Sustainability and the environment
NND is committed to following the ministry's guidance on green transition. We are in the early stages of our work, and have a long-term perspective to include sustainability considerations in all processes and activities. Our goal is to ensure the safe and responsible decommissioning of the nuclear reactors, while safeguarding the consideration of nature and society. We are actively working to build the Agency's expertise and capacity in sustainability, and we are dedicated to achieving tangible results over time.
Climate accounting
As a public business, NND is subject to the Public Procurement Act (LOA). This means that all of our procurements above threshold value are published on Doffin and TED, so that all suppliers can access information about our tenders and enter competitions.
NND mainly uses the State Standard Contracts (SSA) in all contracts where appropriate. This ensures uniform and predictable contractual terms for our suppliers.
Through its procurement policy, NND will promote sustainable and innovative procurement that reduces environmental impact and contributes to the prevention of social dumping and workplace crime.
As of 1 January 2024, stricter requirements have been introduced to emphasise climate and environmental considerations in public procurement. The main rule is now that climate and environmental considerations should be weighted by a minimum of 30 per cent, except if more detailed conditions are met.
At Doffin and TED you can find more information about NND's procurement and how to participate in our tenders.
